Director of Resource Development
Before joining the United Way of Wyoming Valley staff, Yvette worked in sales, but yearned to make her community better. Now she develops and cultivates relationships with area business leaders, donors and volunteers to generate revenue and other resources to ensure long-term community change. She also oversees our organization’s digital engagement efforts and special event planning.
As a single mom, she understands the financial stress and struggles that many parents face. She is inspired every day to seek out funding for United Way’s partner agencies and school-based programs, like the Nurse’s Pantry. This initiative supplies students in need with personal care items and clothing to prevent chronic absenteeism.
“For a family living in poverty, it’s often difficult to provide all the basic necessities for their children. This program offers moms, dads, grandparents and guardians some extra help and spares children the embarrassment of not having deodorant or a clean pair of pants or shoes. Children today are faced with enough challenges. By removing even the smallest barriers to keep them healthy, happy, comfortable and in school, we’re making their lives better and our community stronger.”
Outside of work, Yvette enjoys live music and spending time with her daughter and friends, especially on a beach. She also loves ancient email@example.com
