Jennifer R. Deemer

Vice President of Community Impact

So much of United Way is about raising money. Jennifer’s job is to make sure it’s spent wisely and creates meaningful impact.

“This position allows me to see up close the pressing issues of our community particularly those affecting young children,” she said. “Poverty has a profound impact on young children and their ability to meet their full potential.”

Jennifer oversees investments and the organization’s signature Poverty to Possibility portfolio of school-based literacy programs. Before joining the team at the United Way of Wyoming Valley, she worked for a local charitable health foundation helping nonprofits meet needs for vulnerable populations who also were uninsured or underinsured. “Now I am working for an organization that encompasses health as a priority as well as the educational needs of children, and the financial stability of families,” she said.

Jennifer has a daughter and son at home, and enjoys most of her free time being a mother.
