REGIONAL HIV/AIDS CONTRACTOR
PA Department of Health

Since 1991 the United Way of Wyoming Valley has been the recipient of a Pennsylvania Department of Health contract. Under this contract the United Way is tasked with the planning for, and development and delivery of, a continuum of care and supportive services for individuals living with HIV or AIDS in this six-county region (Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming). This continuum of care is then provided through direct service providers. These service providers are awarded funds from one or more of three funding streams. The United Way receives Ryan White Part B funding to provide HIV care and supportive services, State funds to provide HIV prevention services, and HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS) funds to provide housing services.
Funds
These funds are utilized for programs which impact the HIV/AIDS continuum of care and further any of the following three goals;Goals
