Christmas in July

United Way of Wyoming Valley’s has expanded its Christmas in July Drive Competition to include Feeding and Reading. In 2019, employees at 53 businesses, industries, schools and members of other organizations across the Wyoming Valley spent the month of July holding food drives at their locations for the CEO/Weinberg Food Bank, or raising dollars to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free, high quality books to children from birth to age 5 to promote early learning and family reading.

When all was said and done, 20,146 pounds lbs. of food were collected for the CEO/Weinberg Food Bank, and $26,644 was collected for United Way of Wyoming Valley’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library. For more on the fun for two great causes, read this Times Leader article:

Thank you to everyone who made Christmas in July a huge success!
