Campaign Incentives Fun!
With a 14 month old little boy and twins on the way, Harry Pockevich had his mind set on what else…diapers! We’re fairly certain that Harry has the unofficial record for the annual Wegmans 2-minute shopping spree incentive prize. He strategically loaded his cart with $1,267.28 worth of goods from their Wilkes-Barre store. As a donor to our 2018-2019 Annual Campaign, Gregg Andres (of Schott Advanced Optics in Duryea) won the Wegmans shopping spree. Being a generous guy and great dad, Gregg donated his prize to his daughter and son-in-law.
Thank you Gregg for generously giving! A very special thank you to Dave Grossi and the Wegmans Team for your strong support of the community and work of United Way of Wyoming Valley!

When Rita Skechus got called into a meeting with her boss, she found herself nervous, wondering if she was in trouble or losing her job. Instead, in front of co-workers and news cameras, she learned that she was the lucky donor who won a 2–year lease on a brand new MotorWorld Toyota Rav4, the grand incentive prize for donating to United Way’s 2018-2019 Campaign! Hailed by co-workers and friends as a woman with a heart of gold, she has spent the last 19 years as an emotional support and life skills teacher at the Luzerne Intermediate Unit.
Congratulations Rita! Our thanks for your support and our sincerest gratitude to Rick Osick and MotorWorld Toyota, for your commitment to the community and United Way of Wyoming Valley.
Rita’s big win rendered her speechless, which she said doesn’t happen very often. Click here to watch what happened!
