What is Leadership Giving? |
Leadership Givers are recognized as community leaders who set examples for friends, peers, and other associates to follow. In this way your gift leverages other gifts, thus having an even bigger impact in the community. By showing you care about your neighbors and sharing your resources, you've set an example by re-investing in your community.
Leadership gifts help fund programs that are most successful in helping people with the greatest need. You are strengthening families by giving mothers and fathers the parenting tools and skills they need. You are helping children live in safe, violence-free homes and neighborhoods. You are making it possible for the elderly to live independently longer. You are creating better access to healthcare services and products. And you are increasing self-sufficiency for people facing disaster or personal crisis. These people and their families are living proof that you can make a difference with your charitable donation. |

If you are interested in becoming a Leadership Giver, your Leadership Gift can be made quarterly or monthly, through payroll deduction, or stock transfers.
Many people may find it beneficial to give gifts of assets rather then income. For example, a gift of appreciated securities can provide contributors with a full market value charitable deduction while avoiding capital gains tax.
Please contact Grace Morreale in our Planned Giving Department at (570) 829-6711 ext. 227 to learn more about alternative ways that managers, executives and others can donate, including gifts of stocks, and naming United Way of Wyoming Valley as a beneficiary in a will or trust. |
